CA Confirmation & A Few Changes

Well, it is official, we got our CA confirmation. I got the call around 2pm that the US consulate had emailed my coordinator that we were confirmed for our Consulate appointment on May 30. We had originally asked for May 29 but because Monday of that week is a holiday, there was some sort of issue with May 29 so they had to make it May 30. That is totally fine with me and it actually works out better because we now leave on June 1 which is a Friday and then when we get home we can spend time together as a family because the boys wont have to go to school the next day.

Our plans have changed a little bit but it has not affected our outbound info. Kev and I decided to go to Beijing since we probably wont be back in China for a long time and that we should see the major tourist things. So, out itinerary has changed to the following:

May 15- Leave for Hong Kong @ midnight
May 17- arrive Hong Kong @ 7am and then leave @ 9am for Beijing
May 17 to 20- sight see
May 20 mid day- fly Beijing to Changsha Hunan (Dolton Hotel)
May 21- GOTCHA DAY!!!!! We get our Mia!!!!
May 21 to 26- Hang out in Changsha while all China adoptions stuff is prepared
May 26 mid day- Fly Changsha to Guangzhou (White Swan Hotel)
May 27- rest
May 28 - Mia's medical exam
May 29- rest
May 30- US Consulate Appointment
May 21- Swearing In Ceremony
June 1- Fly Guangzhou to Hong Kong and then Hong Kong to LAX (arrive LAX 2:10pm LA time)

So, that is all now set in stone. I already bought all the airfare and we are set. I am just so excited and shocked that it is happening so fast. We will be traveling alone, but I have already met people who have the same exact itinerary as us so I am sure we will meet people along the way.

I need to pack and finish up with a lot of loose ends. That's it for now.

  1. I'm so happy that you finally have a plan to go get your Mia. Time will pass quicker than you think with all the packing, planning and preparation. (At least, let's hope it will cuz I'm sure you can't wait to get her!)

Are you blogging in China? I'd love to follow your journey... and I'm sure there are others that would too. Congrats again!
