Start of The Season!!

First let me begin with my favorite picture of the group. It is just so cute of Mia and it is so her personality right now. She is just full of wonder and smiles. I just love this picture!

Last night we started decorating for Christmas. We are only part of the way done but I took a few pictures while we were decorating. We are only 3/4 done with the inside of the house and still have the outside to do but it is always a fun time decorating. We have not decorated the tree yet but I will take lots of pictures of that event when it happens.

Tonight we had our family pictures done. None of them came out great but there were a few that we can use. I will post those soon. While waiting for the sitting I took a few cute pictures of Mia. The sitting was chaotic as always. I just don't know how anyone can get 5 humans with 3 little humans to smile and look jovial at the same time. It is literally impossible. So, with the help of a few nice workers and a lot of mommy jumping up and down to try to get the little humans to smile, I think we got a few decent ones. Of course in each picture at least one of the kids looking odd with a goofy smile-- but at least it is a smile. After the photos we went out to the mall which the "snow" was falling (snow = soap bubbles-- hay we are in Southern California- soap bubbles are about as good as it is gonna get around here!) Anyway, we hung out for a few and then had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. We then went home, put kids to bed and here I am- on my computer :)

Anyway, here are some pics of this evening.

  3. Sara, I got her Christmas as well as Thanksgiving dresses at Straussberg Children. It is kind of an upscale kid clothing store that specializes in nice dresses. It is really expensive- like the dress Mia is wearing for Christmas regular price was like $140 which I would never in a million years spend on a dress. They clear things out at various times of the year and I luckily walked in back when we had just got our referral and they had found a box of Christmas stuff that they were putting for final clearance. I found a ton of cute Christmas dresses including the THanksgiving one and tons more and they were all less than $20 each. Literally her silk Christmas dress origionally $140 I got for $19.00. I love good deals!! Their clothes are really nice and all handmade so when I can get them for cheap I jump on it!! A month ago they clearanced out their summer stuff and that is when I got Mia's dress she is wearing for her 1st year photo- $140 origionally- I paid like $27. I also got a ton more stuff at that sale and everything was like under $25. I am a sucker for a good deal!!

  4. Don't you just love this time of the year. The wonder in Children's eyes just is so special. You were so smart to get some good pictures of you decorating. We did ours EARLY Thanksgiving morning...and we all looked pretty haggard. So, the pictures aren't really worth posting...if you know what I mean?!?! I love those of your family...and yes...that dress is so precious. I can't believe you got a Strasburg for $19!!! That is a FANTASTIC bargain!! Great job girl!!!
    Have a great week!

  5. Christy,
Thanks for stopping by! Now in about 3 years when sweet-as-peaches Mia starts sprouting horns, I'm going to stop by and remind you how much fun it was to observe that. Hehehe.

  8. Awesome photos! I just love taking pictures around this time (well, anytime for that matter) but I probably go overboard at Christmas. Your kids looks so cute. Couldn't see the first photo you posted of Mia, though I'm sure it's just precious. Can't wait to see your family photos and the rest of your decorating... still working on mine too!

  9. Christy -

Those are some good lookin' kids!! I love your honesty and candor. Refreshing!

We are beginning to look a lot like Christmas 'round here too - takes forever and there are four little hands this year rifling through the decos!

Have a great holiday season, especially with Mia in tow!
