Kid Nation Party Take 2

Posted by Picasaclick collage to enlarge

* take a look at Mia's pic to the right in the yellow PJ's and then glance over to her referral picture. I am tripped out how much she has changed. In the referral pic she was 4 month and today she is 10 months +. So look at how much she has changed in 6 short months-- wow!!!!

We have created a bit of a tradition on Wednesday nights to watch Kid Nation at Chuck and Susan's house. On Wednesday afternoons the boys have Scouts so after Scouts we do the Kid Nation Party. I decided to document the evening by taking a few pictures.

To update you on Ethan and his quest to be on Kid Nation-- we pulled up the application and there were 58 paragraph questions that must be answered plus about another 75 short answer questions plus a video. It was overwhelming. Because Ethan has homework and all his other obligations, we opted out this time. He may still change his mind but for now, we will put it on the back burner.

  1. Ok...don't you just love Kid Nation? We had to record it because we had church. But we watched it after the kids went to bed. Sophie couldn't believe we watched it without her. Mark and I couldn't wait though. I'm sure Sophie will want to watch it as soon as she gets home from school today. I teased her and told her that I wanted her to marry a boy like Michael...the one that won the gold star last night. He's awesome!!! Anyway, I heard that they already have over 2000 applications in for the next Kid Nation. It must be VERY popular!! It would be cool if your son could do it too!

The difference in Mia's pictures are amazing! She looks so full of life now. You guys have no doubt filled her with such love and joy! She is very blessed!! I always love reading your blog...and am thrilled to find another family that loves reality tv like we do. Hope you have a great day!!

  2. I haven't seen the show, but I've heard lots of controversy about it! I think there's something else I like to watch at the same time it's on.

Your daughter is such a cutie-pie! Thanks for stopping by my blog and saying hi! I have added you to my bloglines so I can keep up with your girl.

  3. I'm trippin' as well on her pics! It's funny when you can look back and see the changes, but also see the similarities.

When we first got Bec, I was scared that he was going to be the wrong kid from the photo! But, oh no, He looks just the same when he sleeps from his referral pic even now 2 years later!

  4. I watched part of the first episode with my kids, but then it's on past their bed time...so they couldn't see it all...oh well!
My little boy is a few months younger than you daughter. She is so cute!

Your family looks just wonderful. I think it's awesome that your son wants to be on Kid Nation. I haven't seen the show yet, I'll have to pay attention and see when it is on.

  7. Have not watched Kid Nation. Seemed a bit rough to me for kids. Just my opinion.
