We made it home safe and sound and I could not be happier!!!! The day of travel was long and exhausting especially since sleep was very difficult and Finley flops around like a dead fish when she is trying to sleep. IT was not easy but we managed to get a few hours of sleep in the long day of travel. We finally made it home and got to see the kids and my mom and sister!! We were so excited. The kids had to miss school but we were so happy to get to see them!!

This was the plane from Guangzhou to Seoul-- probably only 1/3 full. It was so nice to have the full center row plus all the rows behind, in front of us and on the sides of us were empty-- unfortunately the next flight was full-- uggg!!!

Our first view of everyone as we came up the ramp at LAX

Finley was not sure what to make of all of these people ogling over her but she got use to it very quickly!

So unbelievably happy to see everyone!!!

She loves her big brothers

Mia was all over Finley!! She was so the typical big sister with the "come here-- follow me-- do it like this." It was actually really cute and Finley seemed fine with it!

Finley loved the suckers

All 4 kids!!!

Cassie brought gifts for Finley and Mia-- they loved them!

Oh my goodness is Finley in love with my mom!! It is crazy!! My mom and her bonded immediately (what the heck is it with me?) and they have been tight since. After we got home and everyone came over for dinner (that my mom made-thanks) Finley kept coming back to my mom and giving her hugs-- cute!

Love this pic!!!

My mom, Finley, Kev and Cass (who lived with my kids and watched them the whole time. Thanks soooooo much Cass-- We soooo appreciated all you did!!)

Riding ont he luggage

Mia grabbed Finley's hand and they walked all the way to the car holding hands!! IT was adorable and they both were happy as can be!

Sisters and yes, Mia is a good 2 to 3 inches taller than Finley so she is "OFFICIALLY" the bigger sister-- which was a big deal to Mia :)

Too cute!

All buckled into her seat-- she did ok on the ride home but for some reason threw up about half way home after we had some food. The food had not even digested so it was no big deal but she seemed to not feel 100%- neither did Owen and this morning nor do I-- uggg!!

So, when we got home Finley needed a bath from the day of travel and the throw up so both girls jumped in and loved it. They had a ton of fun playing-- just as I had imagined it!

The rest of the night was awesome but I forgot to take pics. I will see if my mom or dad did but we had a nice time with family and Finley loved playing with the kids. She plays very well with others!
I will post more pics from China soon and I will take more pics today! We have a DR. Appointment to get the referral to the Spina Bifida clinic today so I will get a few pics of that!
So for now we are home safe and sound and so happy to be home with our family of 6!!!

  6. Christy, Welcome home! I have followed your blog since you got home with Mia. I just recieved my referral of Ba Shi Lei yesterday and I am thinking Mia was from the same SWI in Yueyang County. I would love to know your experience with this Province. I am still waiting on translated info. My website is and my email is It is fully when I saw My Maizi's referral I thought she resembled Mia and might be from same region.

  9. A huge congratulations to all of you!!! What an amazing trip. Finley is so lucky to have all of you and you to have her. I know how hard it is to be the parent the child doesn't bond to at first. Our Mia did the same thing with Eddie and it was tough. It got better, and now she is more of a Momma's girl. Sending lots of love your way!!!

  10. Have been following your blog for a long time but not sure I have ever commented. Welcome home as a family of 6! Finley is beautiful and it sure looks like Mia is already in love with her sister!

  11. Welcome back friend!! Can't wait to meet Findley in person..and I will send you that other info later this weekend..all our love!!!

  12. What a beautiful family of six you have! Mia looks so happy to have her sister. How sweet that Finley took a liking to your mother. I wonder if she is adjusting to your blond hair... probably the first time she has ever seen that.

  13. Welcome home! It looks like Mia is sooo happy to be a big sister! I love the pictures of the girls together!

  14. Welcome home to your family of 6. The two girls holding hands couldn't be any cuter. Congrats and have fun!

  15. I'm so happy that you are all home together and just enjoying being a family of SIX!!!!! The picture of the girls holding hands and Mia's big smile just put me right over the edge and I'm a teary mess now! I can't wait to head down south again SOOOOOON to meet your Finley!
