At church on Sunday the boys were involved in a performance for all 3 services. While in Sunday School they have one hour that is choir and they always perform every few months. They did well although performing is not their favorite thing. I love how they just stand there and sing-- void of any annimation or smiles-- too funny. In this area they are their fathers boys!

After church we had an all church BBQ. Our church is in a very diverse area and pulls from many communities around our area. We actually live 20 minutes from our church and there are many people who drive much further than that to get there. Because of this our church breaks our church into communities - basically by city- when it comes to ministering through bringing food to sick families or tragedy's or things like that. So after church we had our Community Life BBQ. It lasted for 2 services and was great food and lots of fun. There was a jump house and other fun stuff. Lots of food and dessert- snow cones- root beer floats and much more. Anyway, to escape the sun, we went into a more open area and the kids ran around on the grass and my nephew showed us some of his gymnastics moves. He is really getting good and can almost do a full back flip-- way cool!!!

When Mia had her first birthday she received a ton of toys from all our great friends and family members. It was far too overwhelming at the time so I put most of the toys in her closet to be pulled out at a later date. Well this weekend I went through her toys and got rid of quite a few that she no longer plays with or that is below her developmental level. That allowed me the space to pull out a few more of the birthday gifts and one of them was this cool band thing with a drum and tambourine and other cool stuff. Mia was so excited about the new toy that she just sat on the ground and played and sang for quite some time. It was so cute and it went on forever. At the point when I grabbed the video she had already been sitting there singing for like 5 minutes or so. I think this girl is gonna be a musical little thing :)

Cool videos! And I LOVE Mia's dress! Do you mind sharing where it's from?
ReplyDeleteI get many of Mia's dresses at marshalls. They are cute different looking dresses and are usually very reasonably priced-- like 7 to 10 dollars.
ReplyDeleteChristy :)
I SO LOVE Mia's dress!! Did that one come from Marshalls? Our Marshalls here isn't always stocked very good!!
ReplyDeleteYour boys in the pics at the top are so funny. I am SUCH a performer and have been since 9. It cracks me up, because Sophie, my oldest, does the same thing as your boys. She get REAL serious and shows NO emotion when she's up on stage. That is so foreign to me cause I was a little ham!! :) It funny to watch though!! How awesome it is that God gives us little glimpses into their giftings and personalities!!!
Have a wonderful week!!!
Buffi
My boys are the same way - I am just thankful that they move their lips!!
ReplyDeleteI love Mia's dress; it is adorable!
What a little cutie singing as she "plays" the instruments! So fun!
ReplyDeleteI loved all of the video's! How cool that you could show us the door to your first grade classroom. Mia cracks me up with her conversation with you. Ellie walked in again and I said "There is Mia" and she said "I know!", ha!!! Smart to not overwhelm her with all of her gifts at once...looks like she is enjoying this one way more than she would if she had gotten it back on her birthday. So cute!
ReplyDeleteMia is too cute!!! I loved the videos'!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have such beautiful children..boys and girl!
