Just a quick post before I go lay my aching head down on my pillow hoping my head will not explode while I sleep! What is wrong you ask-- the stinking weather here in Southern California~! It has been in the low to mid 80's for the past week. With the odd record high temps comes what we here in Southern California affectionately refer to as "the Santa Ana Winds". It sounds like a nice condition-- but it is NOT!! It SUCKS!! The winds are blowing and the weather is totally warm and consequently, people who do not have allergies are showing up with all kinds of symptoms. I do not have allergies - Kevin is the only one in our family that does but I have quite literally had a headache for the past 4 days. I hate taking medication but I have totally had to medicate myself (motrin- tylenol) just so my head does not feel like my brain is going to blow up. The second the meds wear off, the headache is back. Since a headache for me is rare I actually called my mom today (she is the nurse to our doctor) to ask if it was normal to have a 4 day headache. She said everyone is coming in for the same symptoms and it is pretty much due to the weather-- UGGGGG!!!!
I just had to bit*h a little because right now the meds are wearing off and the headache is coming back-- uggg please go away!!! Anyway, I just checked the weather and there is no end in sight to the warm weather or the winds so I guess this headache will be with me for a while-- I'm going to take a motrin and go to bed :)
I'm sorry to hear about your headache - I know what a bummer that can be. I have to say, though, I think I'd rather have 80 and a headache than 0, which is what it is here this morning!
ReplyDeleteFeel better,
Rachel
So sorry girly..
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon..
love ya...
I'm so sorry! :( The weather really is crazy now! We've got really cold temps...and thats not normal for us. I hope that all those winds get straight and that you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteDrink A LOT....stay hydrated and think about us poor people in WI and MN where the temps are -25 to -50 below zero....that's right....want a headache?....try one of these freezy headaches....ouch!!!
ReplyDeleteNo, seriously I am really sorry you are feeling so bad. I used to live in CA so I know what you are talking about. (although I think I would take that right now to these freezing temps) Praying you are feeling better real soon.
Anonymous-- Drink a lot you say-- OK is that rum and coke or a stiff martini??? I can get get behind that suggestions-- haha!!! Thanks for the suggestion. I am actually trying to drink a ton of water today-- maybe that will help but sadly, the headache is back again today-- uggg!!
ReplyDeleteHey girl,
ReplyDeleteWell while you are dealing with record highs - I am dealing with record lows. It is supposed to be 12 degrees in the morning when we wake up! Ouch. Why is it that the weather can make your head hurt? It is so crazy. I hope you get to feeling better soon! :)
Hugs, LA
We are the complete opposite here....go outside for a small increment of time and you might get frostbite!!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon.....I say drink a stiff martini...LOL, I read the comments above!!
Hope your headaches go away - that's the pits. And we have the opposite problem - record low temps. It's ridiculously cold here! Right now it is 0 degrees. Now that's equally wrong! Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteSorry girl! Bitch away it's okay. This weather is getting old though...I'm really ready for winter, but I don't think it's gonna happen. We've bypassed winter and went straight to spring. Sigh. This will not be good for the fire season. ARGH!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you are aching. But what we would do here in Montreal to have such hot weather during our week long -35 cold snap! Apparently it was warmer in the North Pole yesterday. Go figure!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. Unfortunately, I am familiar with those kind of headaches (but not from Santa Ana winds!). Truly the best fix to take both sudafed and motrin or tynelol. In fact, I think motrin has a product with both sudafed and ibuprofen in it. Anyways...the sudafed with help with the sinus pressure. Promise.
