We are home!!!

Hi all,

I wanted to let you all know that we are back from China and doing
well. Mia did great on the 12 hour flight home. We kept her up for
about 3 hours and then drugged her (benadryl)for the next 8 hours
and then she woke up with about an hour to spare. She fussed a
little, but overall did great. We got to LAX at 2:20pm and drove
home (it took 1.5 hours because of traffic but really only about 45
min drive normally)and forced her to stay up. She finally fell
asleep at about 7:30pm and slept great until 12am. At that point she
was wide awake and happy. I gave her a bit of benadryl to get her to
go back to sleep and she did after about 50 minutes and then we had
to wake her up at 9:30am. She slept great. We put her down at about
8:30 tonight and I did give her a tiny bit of benadryl again in an
appempt to keep the sleep cycle going and it is 12:30am and she is
still asleep so let's hope for the best.

Other than that, she is doing great!! She loves her brothers and all
the neighborhood kids. She just smiles huge smiles at them when she
sees them. She is adjusting great!! I took her to target today and
she fell asleep but woke up happy as can be. SHe is just a joy and
we could not have asked or ever wanted more!! We feel so blessed!!

Kev and I are doing great also. We slept well last night and woke up
normal this morning so hopefully the jet lag will be minimal.

THanks to all of you who supported us while in China and along this
bumpy road. It has been amazing and we thank you all for everything.
I will continue to post on our blog but I just wanted to give you
all an update and to thank you for your support!!!

I took a few pictures today but we are having a little get together after church tomorrow so I will take a bunch of pics tomorrow and post them all at once. I need to go to bed!!

Christy :)

I'm so glad to hear that all is going well. Have a nice day at church...I can't wait to see some pictures of beautiful Mia with her big brothers. :)

By the way, I'm the one who left you a comment about living in RC. My husband and I are just about to start the adoption process for child #2. I was wondering if you used Nightlight Christian Adoptions in Fullerton? I would love to meet or talk to you when things settle down for you at home. You can just email me. Thanks. :)

  2. Hi Kim,

I also used Nightlight for the adoptions of both our children (domestic and China adoption). You can email me for questions as well.

  4. Dear Christy, Kevin, Owen, Ethan and Mia,
Congratulations! We may never get to go to China in our life, but we felt like we went there with you these past weeks. Thanks for sharing it with us. It's good to know that you are home and all is well. How lucky you are that the flight went well. Happy new family to all of you.
With love, Joyce and David Bock
