Mia with her new friend Jacob who was born while we were in China

Mia with great friend Tenderly

Mia loves her jumpy thing

Posted by PicasaMia has taken to Biter biscuits. Gross!!
Mia is doing great!!! She had her first doctors appointment yesterday and the doctor said she is perfect (we knew that already). She weighed 15.5 pounds (naked) and was 27 inches tall. She is 25%ile in weight and 75th in height. It is so strange having a child who is actually on the charts as both the boys were always off the charts (above). They were HUGE so it is nice to have a child I can actually plot on the charts.
We have had a lot of family and friends come by to see Mia and they are just as enamored by her as we are. For the first few nights that we were home, Mia would wake up around 12am or 1am ready to go for the day. So, I would give her a little bit of benadryl and wait up with her for an hour or so and then she would finally fall asleep. The last 2 nights, Mia did not wake up in the middle of the night! She seems to finally be on our west coast time zone and doing well. She also is taking 2 naps a day. One mid morning and one in the afternoon. She could sleep for 2 hours for each nap but most of the time each nap is about 1 to 1.5 hours. If she sleeps well she goes to bed at about 8:30am and if she takes poor naps, she is ready by 7 to 7:30pm. Also, we have gotten to the point where we can put her in her bed awake (but very tired) and put her paci in and she goes to sleep by herself. I love that!! It makes putting her down sooooo easy. She does that very easily with naps but needs a little more loving at bedtime so of course I give it!!
Anyway, all is well here. Mia is great, the boys are in love with her and we are happy parents loving our sweet baby girl. I will post more soon!

  6. Christy--I got your blog site from someone in the Ventura County on-line adoption support group and have been reading your blog with great joy and interest. You see, I leave for China in a few weeks and our daughters have the same birthdate! Mine is from the Jiangxi Province--so I will be going to a different city to get her. However, your blog gave me so much helpful information about what to expect with the travels as well as development.
Thank you so much and Congratulations!
