Holy Cow Anonomyous!!!

I dont have to deal with this often because most of the readers of my blog are nice, but I just read a comment from, of course, an anonymous poster that decided to bash me because Mia is 3 and was still on a paci. She was not on a paci during the day, just at night and really I should not have to justify myself to anyone for the decisions that are right for my family. By the way, I have had a ton of emails from this post that have laughed because their 4 and 5 year olds are still trying to give up the paci. So, please don't come to my blog and bash me!! I don't need that! Mia is fine and giving a paci up at 3 is NOT a big deal- Thank You Very Much!!!!!

  1. Hi Christy, so sorry some dork wrote you that response. And didn't sign it either. Typical. In the internet world, they are sometimes called Trolls, trolling around causing trouble.

So sorry that happened. Some people are just dorks. There are 4 and 5 year olds still on bottles of milk!

    Best,
    Snick :)

  10. Yeah, I stopped allowing anonymous comments a couple of weeks ago. After years of weird stuff showing up, I just turned it off.

You are a great Mom who is very in touch with her children.

  11. I'm dealing with ugly comments to. I just don't get it. I loved the paci. In fact, I think I was more addicted to it than the boys! I loved being able to plug them up ;) Don't let that crazy person bother you.

  12. Hmmmmm. so easy to post that way. I guess they have the "PERFECT" child. You blog has kept us going during the long wait. I can't wait to be judged on how we treat/raise our little Madison.

  13. Jacob and I were talking about that comment today and how mad it made me mad and he said...well wait I can't say it here. Yea he thought it a bit unkind and um I think he used the word cowardly.

  14. 2 of my 5 children kept their "noonie" until they were 4... ok ok... almost 5... and then the "noonie fairy" came one night and took them all away and left a small trinket under the pillow... They - even the 2 that took a "noonie" for years and years- all turned out just fine!

My mother was my worst non-"annonymous" comment giver... hahahaha!

Seriously... it is such a comfort to some little ones. I figure as long as they don't want to take it to school with them it is all good!

  15. My oldest DD used her "binky" until age 2.5, when Santa took it to another child who needed it on Xmas Eve! It was so hard for her to give it up. At about age 2, a friend made a suggestion that was helpful for us. He had cust a small hole in the tip of the paci, so the sucking wasn't quite as satisfying. Every few weeks we snipped away a bit more. Seriously, by the time Xmas came around, she would stick it in her mouth to fall asleep and then it would fall right out because there was hardly anything left to put in her mouth. So, on Xmas Eve, we were going to leave it out with the milk and cookies for Santa to take, but she changed her mind and wanted to sleep with it, so we told her she could do that one more night, and Santa would come get it from her crib to give to a new baby who needed it more than she did.

  16. That's why I moderate the comments to my blog. I will allow "anonymous" posters and even those who disagree with me, but they have to sign their name or they will remain "anonymous" in cyberspace when I delete their comment and refuse to post it :)

  19. It's a shame that others feel they can parent a child they don't know better than the one that knows the child! Kids wean at different ages. My son will be 2 and I have just begun to wean (sleep time only). It's hard because adopted kids often missed out on that comforting early in life and I don't want to take away what has been his best bud since the first day we met.
