The Name Game

It is crazy how much the kids want to name our new little girl. The boys want us to pick a name and use it so we can call her by name as opposed to calling her "your new little sister." Mia doesn't care what her name is-- she just wants her sister home from China and asks literally 20 times a day when her sister will be home from China-- too cute!!! So, there is a name floating around that we all LOVE and are leaning towards but I think it is a little too soon to make a final decision so we are going to chew on this name for a while and I guess we will see. Sooooooooooo the suggested name we are leaning towards is.............................

Drum roll please...........
Finley (Chinese name) Bock

So, what do you think? I love it! It works well and fits with our last name. Also, my long time friend Jamie who just adopted her daughter domestically, named her Finley and when I heard that name I loved it immediately!!!!!

Input please!!!!!!

  1. I am a long time follower of your blog and remember your journey to Mia. I am so excited for your family as you prepare to add another little girl to your family!

We adopted our Mia from China last July. We also have three boys named Ethan, Logan, and Christian.

I love the name Finley! It is different but very cute! I think it goes well with your last name. Good luck deciding!

  5. It's precious! I might have a back up name in case her Chinese name contained Li - but that would be the only reason I can think of that I'd use a different name.

  7. Congratulations on your decision to adopt again. It is wonderful how you and Kevin both listened to the Lord.

I love the name Finley. We seriously considered it for Kate actually. My husband has a connection to that name form his childhood and family so it topped our list. But some friends of ours adopted from China right before us (in our neighborhood) and named their daughter Finley. It would have been too confusing because we were in the same small social circle. Anyway, I do really like it.

Best wishes and blessings as you navigate the process again:)
